at the beach there was a carnival that was closed down for the year. bummer. that really drove home that summer was over.

I love this photo, and photos of amusement parks in general. Especially closed ones, actually. It's that tangible feeling of summers past and fun that was had, and just a little bit of sadness. Something quite poetic about it!
elizabeth - you just totally get it! :) that is exactly how i feel and when i saw the ferris wheel in the distance from the hotel, i was excited. only to arrive after that long walk to realize it was shut down for the season. :(
